Check out the latest MDT x5 offering from KFA2, allowing you to game with multiple monitors on GTX 560 Ti.
This card comes with six display output connectors of which four are mini-HDMI, one DVI and one Display port connector and it supports 2 / 3 / 4 monitors in span mode and 2×2 in stack mode over the HDMI connectors.
To get multi-monitor display technology supported Galaxy / KFA2 had to revert to an external solution. The IC grabs the monitor signal and then combines and splits it into one big reslution.
The chip used here is the IDT VMM 1400 IC which allows the end-user to connect up to four monitors to a single DisplayPort connection and support vertical image expansion.
The card is roughly 10-inches in length and will eat up two PCI slots, Sitting on top of it is the heatpipe based cooler which has one 80mm fan.
The 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 memory is clocked at an effective data-rate of 4200 MHz and power consumption is rated at a 170W TDP.
But over all GTX 560 Ti is not fast enough when you connect three or more monitors and combine it with modern DX11 game titles, you need a heck of a lot beefier GPU for that.
However, we do hope that the dev team of Galaxy / KFA2 will further explore the feature on a nice beefy GeForce GTX 580 for example, as that’s where it would become really interesting.
If you stick to one monitor, the GTX 560 obviously packs a decent punch to play the latest games pretty well up-to 1920×1200.
