Maingear Vybe 15-Inch Gaming Laptop
Maingear has launched the 15-inch Vybe, a new configurable gaming laptop that sacrifices some of the Pulse 11′s portability in exchange for a bit of additional power.
While the Vybe is more powerful than its cousin in pretty much every department, the most notable differences are an increase in RAM and a better graphics card in the high-end configurations.
The 15-inch screen may be a bit small for hardcore gamers, but the Vybe’s ultimate configuration — a third-generation Core i7, 8GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 660M graphics card, 750GB SATA drive, and a 256GB SSD drive — can hold its own against iconic gaming laptops like the Samsung Series 7 Gamer and the Alienware M17x R4.
Maingear’s laptops ship with no bloatware, and the “good” and “better” configurations are available now for $1,099 and $1,299 respectively.
Price & Availability
The “best” costs $1,600, the “ultimate” configuration sells for a steep $1,999, and neither will ship until August 17th.
