2019 will be the year of Samsung Galaxy flagships 10th anniversary. So, it’s only natural that Galaxy’s developers are going above and beyond to make Galaxy S10 special, memorable and like never seen before. Nowadays one of the most important features that consumers are looking for in a smartphone is the cameras capabilities. We already saw a dual-camera. But Dual camera? How about a triple-camera? Some reports have suggested that with Galaxy S10, Samsung could be introducing a triple-camera smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy and dual camera
Samsung Galaxy S9+ was released not that long ago, in March 16th, 2018. And Galaxy S series saw its first dual camera. But let’s step back a bit. Dual cameras in a smartphone actually are not as fresh and new as you may think. The first dual camera smartphone was released in 2011 in HTC Evo 3D (it was used to capture 3D images to work with 3D screen). After this little experiment that didn’t really take off, in 2014 HTC released M8 with impressive Duo camera. Since then dual cameras have really evolved and are delivering impressive results – dramatically overcoming space limitations in present-day smartphones.
What does dual camera do?
Well, to make it short – it means that there are two photo sensors instead of one. The camera takes color images in the best way possible and the second sensor adds elements that can’t be captured with one sensor. So, basically, dual camera can help you get an image that is sharper and with more detail, enable and ultra-wide-angle mode or to help you take photos with a shallow depth of field to make the subject stand out.
Galaxy S10 with triple-camera?
A reliable source reveals that Samsung while making the new Galaxy S series is referring to theme as “Beyond”. It seems to be, that Samsung is likely to release three S10 variations them being code-named “Beyond 0”, “Beyond 1” and “Beyond 2”. It is a bit too soon to have detailed technical information about Galaxy S10 triple-camera. Though what we know is that Samsung is believed to be responding to Huawei and its recently released triple-camera giant P20 Pro smartphone. So far, the customer reviews of P20 Pro have been very promising. And why shouldn’t they be? Two of the cameras are combined into a raised unit, comprising 40-megapixel color and 20-megapixel monochrome cameras (kind of like the dual camera). The third camera is used for zoom. It has an 8-megapixel sensor, but the lens offers 3x optical zoom and there is a composite 5x hybrid zoom that uses a mixture of the three cameras to try and improve the quality of the photo. This third lens has been designed to make far-away objects appear closer up to the camera, with not moving the camera at all.
Galaxy S10 price?
With this tasty addition of a triple-camera to Galaxy S10, we can guess the price could go up as well. We could guess it could go over a thousand dollars… But maybe the price will match the high quality crisp photos we will be able to take? We will just have to wait and see.
